FAQS Just for you!

There is noting like stating the obvious in a blog post but I do get asked these question  and if you haven’t read my FAQ page then I thought I would iron out the answers for you.

Grab a cuppa and lets get stuck in.

I do NOT make direct copies and this is something that I am not comfortable with doing. I know it sounds harsh but I’ve spent years and sleepless nights! (at uni) developing my skills and learning my craft. However, I am happy to take ideas and elements as inspiration to help me design your dress or outfit.

Handmade leather jacket:

If you are looking at a personalised jacket please allow 6 weeks to get in touch but it can be made within 3 to 4 weeks, depending on design.

Jackets that are ready to buy from my shop can take 2 to 4 weeks depending how busy I am.

Bespoke clothing:

The process of a made to measure outfit can take 6 to 8 weeks (depending on the garment been made) with a final fitting required to ensure the perfect fit and finish.

Wedding dress / Bridesmaids:

A custom wedding dress takes time and skill and can be completed in 5 months but if you were looking for a lot of detailing I would recommend 8 to 9 months as this process cannot be rushed.

You can read more about my services here

It’s hard to give you a exact price when it comes to bespoke as prices can differ depending on style, fabrics and design details.

As a guide price:

I take 50% deposits after the quote has been finalised and I do offer payments plans for the final payments. This can be discussed in the consultation

I aim to have your dress or outfit ready 2 weeks before, if you have a specific date please state this in the consultation.

It all depends on the design and style of the dress, but as a guide it can take 2 to 4 fittings.

Please let me know if you cannot make you appointment and we can reschedule.

Please arrive on time for your appointment so we have plenty of time to go through everything, if you are running late please contact me ASAP as we may have to reschedule.

As all my garments are individually made to measure, I do not offer refunds on dresses or deposits.

I hope this has helped give you an outline of any questions you may have but as always please drop me a messgae if there is anything I haven’t mentioned.

Take A Walk On The Wild Side

Take A Walk On The Wild Side

A while back I was scrolling through Instagram when I came across Ashley’s super cool photography account. I absolutely loved the look and vibe of the photos and knew in an instant that I had to follow.

Roll on to a few months back and after many likes and comment exchanges, we decided to collaborate together. I mean who wouldn’t say no to a shoot in Vegas!

I highly recommend you go check Ashely out if you’re in need of a photographer for your wedding.

For the shoot I decided to use champagne matt sequin wiggle dress that I had made a few years back accompanied with my pink wild side jacket, which can be ordered here

The photos as expected looked incredible, I mean hats off to the model as well because she looks cool as.

I’m pretty excited that I can share these images with you, I never even thought that I’d get a chance like this to showcase my work like this, so I’m celebrating every moment.

It’s amazing how a small little app can bring people together and collaborate in such a way.

Hands up who wants to go to Vegas right now.

Bespoke Biker jacket

Bespoke Biker jacket

So, you want to order a bespoke biker jacket but not sure what I offer, then fear no more this post is to tell you what entails when you order one of my super-duper jackets.

What makes my jackets different?

A lot of people are shocked when they find out that my jackets are made from scratch, yes that’s right people all of it from the design, pattern cutting, cutting out of the fabric to the sewing the god dam thing up, Pretty neat huh?

So, your basically buying a on off jacket that made entirely just for you!

When it comes to ordering a jacket all you have to do is go to my shop page and I have a listings available where you can either order through my shop or if you’re looking for something in particular then just drop me an email at, we can then discuss your ideas further.  For Payments I accept PayPal or Bank transfer via an invoice. I have several options when it comes to payment: Pay the full amount or if you would like to do a payment plan I usually ask for a 50% deposit from the full amount to cover costs of the fabrics, then you can either split the rest of the costs down in to one or two final payments, all I ask is for the payment to be completed before I post the jacket out.

Now here is the fun part the design: anything goes with me, I’m open to giving any idea a go so if you have a particular theme to your wedding or colour pallet I am happy to work with that to create a special design. My jackets aren’t just for weddings either they can be ordered just to wear every day, at events, for businesses or festivals so same goes as above looking for a particular design give me a hola!

I wanted to offer something a little bit different when it comes to patches, so I use glitter and faux leather fabrics which are sourced from small business in the UK to create a hand appliquéd design, each design is drawn out first to make sure you are 100% happy. I then transfer this design to a template to help me cut it out in the fabric. A lot of time and care goes in to these patches, so they are glued and then stitched on in place to make sure they last and don’t budge! The great thing about these is they don’t have to be on the back they can be anywhere on the jacket.

Just want a plain jacket? No problem I am more than happy to make one.

My jackets are made in standard UK sizes from size 8 to 18 online but I can go up to a size 26. My designs can be adapted if needed for example shorter, longer, petite, different sleeves this can all be accommodated all I ask for you to contact me via email for this as the price can vary and I need to accommodate the fabric.

I use high quality vegan friendly faux leather for my jackets that have been tested to stand wear and tear for a long time, I have spent a long-time fabric sourcing to get the right fabric to work for my designs. All my fabrics come from the UK

I pride myself on creating the perfect fitting handcrafted garments to make you feel empowered because yourself expression should shine through every day in what you wear. when you wear a piece of Born to Thread I guarantee you will feel that.

Punk Rock Pizza Elopement Styled Photoshoot

Punk Rock Pizza Elopement Styled Photoshoot

Omg! Pizza elopement…. well who wouldn’t want to get married in a pizza place – How cool

A few months back I was contacted by the lovely Nina who runs Wedded Kiss, she had absolutely fallen in love with my jackets and wanted to feature them in a shoot that they were organising.

I absolutely love being involved in shoot and this one sounded exciting so I said yes, They were going for a rockabilly / punk rock theme so I thought my white heart breaker and pink wifey jacket would be perfect! so I popped them in the post and prayed they would arrive safely in America ready for the shoot.

It’s so great to see so many ideas for wedding these day and you don’t have to stick with the traditions – I mean who wants that!

You should defiantly bring YOUR personality into it no matter what and that is defiantly what this styled shoot was all about.

Pizza, style and most of all a loving couple which the photographer Arika Jordon captured beautifully.

Feast your eyes on these beauties and then maybe go plan a wedding with pizza involved!

A Modern Fairytale

A Modern Fairytale

Phew.. Its been a crazy few weeks over here, hope you all are having a great start to 2018 too!

I teamed up with super talented Katie McMillan Photo again last weekend to create a modern day fairytale shoot, yes that’s right sound just as magical as the title. I have been dreaming about doing avant grade shoot for ages, especially when I could use my designs to make it happen. I had two looks that I wanted to use, a dark side which could only be described as the dark prince charming and the other look was very frosty like the ice queen.

The location of the shoot was held at Druids Temple near Masham, North Yorkshire – The perfect eerie setting

The whole look couldn’t of come together without this dream team
