What makes my jackets different?

A lot of people are shocked when they find out that my jackets are made from scratch, yes that’s all of it, from the design to pattern cutting working with your measurements, cutting out of the fabric to sewing the design and jacket Pretty cool huh?

It definitely makes it like no other you’ve seen before.

I taught myself how to make a jacket from an existing one I had, then developed the patterns to change the style and create the perfect fit.

It also happens to be a personal favourite item of mine which is why I absolutely love making them.

Each one of my custom leather jackets is made from high-quality leather sourced from an ethical leather merchant in Northampton UK and you can read more about why I use real leather here

Handmade leather jackets – Kiss Leather Jacket – I was made for lovin’ you

Handmade leather jackets – Kiss Leather Jacket – I was made for lovin’ you

Recently I had the pleasure of making this fun Kiss leather jacket for Jess a mega-fan wanting to wear it for her wedding — super cool.

All my leather jackets are made from real leather and you can read more about why I make real leather jackets by hand here

I absolutely love the requests I get through for designs on the back but this one was a fun challenge to make, I’m not gonna lie when the bride contacted me it had me a bit nervous.

Just the font in itself was a bit tricky to get right but with perseverance, I got there in the end.

With Jess being a huge Kiss fan and her first dance being to this song we decided to go for the lyrics ‘I was made for lovin you’ on the back in the style of font they use.

I used a black glitter fabric for the lettering.

We also added a green mermaid glitter star behind it to compliment the glam side and the star face design one of the members has.

Here is the Kiss leather mid – design

For the leather jacket itself, we used silver leather in a short-waisted style so it sat perfectly with her dress and had an emerald green lining to match the star colours on the back.

I was a bit worried that the glitter would all merge together and you wouldn’t be able to read what it says but it worked out really well in the end.

The finished look of the Kiss leather jacket

Jess was so happy with the whole design of her jacket and was blown away by it been exactly how she wanted it to be. She even sent me a film of her opening her jacket when she received it through the post.

If you’re looking for that edgy style on your wedding day or even just for every day, then my handcrafted personalised leather jackets are just for you. Just like Jess and her Kiss leather jacket!

Bespoke Clothing – Is It expensive

Bespoke Clothing – Is It expensive

Bespoke Clothing

When it comes to the word bespoke or handmade it sounds expensive right?

And yes it might seem that when first enquiring but hear me out when you sit and think about how much you spend on fast fashion that doesn’t last then in the long run it actually works out a lot less in money.

Why?

  • its made to last a lifetime
  • Its made with care
  • Its made sustainably
  • Its made for you!

I believe you have to look at it from a mindset view, when you decide to go bespoke you will probably look after the item of clothing and enjoy wearing it so much more than what you would spending on something that you just buy for the sake of buying.

When it comes to bespoke clothing its an investment piece that is made to fit you so it will not only will it make you feel incredible, it will also last a lifetime.

The biggest cost usually when comes to a handmade outfit is the fabric but I believe if you use high quality fabrics then the end result will be high quality.

So what happens in a bespoke service?

I love to know everything you want from an outfit from your personality to the shapes you desire and style you are going for, I can then take that information and see what would work out best for you.

I work with sketches and fabric samples of your choice as a starting point to create your unique garment.

Working one to one with me is an incredible journey too because not only will you see how the construction of a garment comes together it will be to your exact measurements and that’s not something you from the high street.

Now don’t get me wrong there are some amazing companies on the high street that are turning to being more sustainable but if you are looking for a completely unique piece then I suggest you think about going bespoke-I guarantee it will be the best decision you make

Matching Personlised Leather Jackets : Las Vegas wedding

Matching Personlised Leather Jackets : Las Vegas wedding

Jo And Jonny celebrated their Las Vegas wedding earlier on in the year.

I had the honour of making them both their very own personalised leather jackets.

It’s been one of my favourite designs to create so far and was a challenge, to say the least!

To get a more of a vibe of what the couple were into I invited them to come to my studio so we could chat more about their wedding, where it was happening and did they have a theme they wanted to go with.

They defiantly wanted something that represented them both and also wanted to bring a sentimental vibe that they were getting married in Vegas, I mean who doesn’t.

They both have a passion for reptiles and even have them as pets themselves so they chose to have a snake incorporated around a heart. This was a tricky one to draw but I got there in the end.

To incorporate the Las Vegas theme I thought it would be cool to do the writing as they do on the biker patches so it stood out nice and bold. I also had to stick some dice in there because I believe the couple were rolling into good times!

The design

With all my designs I start by sketching a hard copy out which then gets transferred to my iPad to redraw it through procreate, this means I can use colour to get more of a feel see how it looks. It was also easier to send to my clients as they can see what it will look like too and not just black and white.

I can also keep my client updated as I’m drawing it to make sure it exactly as they want it.

This was the first time I had ventured into making a man’s leather jacket so that was an added extra challenge on top.

When working with Johnny’s size the pattern had to be drafted differently but luckily I had my handy men’s pattern book to help me along the way.  It was worth it, in the end, to see how it turned out.

I also took Jo’s measurements to make sure the jacket was perfect rocking for her too.

For Jo went for a soft rose pink jacket and kept the design colours complementing the colour. I used my leopard print lining to fully line the jacket as the pink colours really popped with the jacket and the back design.

With Johnny’s we went for a classic black and used similar colours for the design but used a red for the heart instead of pink, It was fully lined in a classic red lining too.

I love how the black and white lettering just pops out of the jacket.

I was so excited when I saw the pictures of them both wearing it in Las Vegas, it just looks so blummin cool and badass.

They took to the streets of Vegas at night with jackets in tow.
